Why I hate the Toronto Maple Leafs - Reason 197

This is what I found on top of Masada.

And for all you Leafs Fans who support the State of Israel in their Occupation of Palestine... The Leafs haven't won a Stanley Cup since the year that Israel colonized the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Golan Heights in June of 1967. You want a parade down Yonge Street? Support Palestinian rights for self-determination and you might just get it! As it stands right now there will be no peace in the Middle East until Israel withdraws to the Green Line, nor will the Leafs win another Cup - sorry guys - that's a fact.

greetings m,

you wrote we will never achieve peace until israel end its occupation. the most recent stage of the arab-israeli conflict has convinced me that the two state solution is no solution at all.

i don't think the land or the resources of mandatory palestine can be divided equitably. moreover, i am unwilling to tell jews living for 50 years in occupied land that it is no longer their home. for them, the illegal settlements are as much their homes as america is mine. i am also unwilling to abandon the palestinians' right to return. finally, i believe, now more than ever, that israel is a fundamentally racist and militarily aggresive state whose existence is a constant cause of instability and insecurity.

i think the only just and practical solution for an enduring peace is a binational state where oppressed social and economic classes, arabs and jews, will, i think, find that their interests coincide.

so i break with the international consensus and join the camp of those who support a binational state, most famously the late mr. said.

it is likely that you will forget more about this conflict than i will ever know so i am interested to know why you don't support or believe in the binational state solution.

best,
the mad rapper
